About SONA Films…

Founded in 2016 by producer Sophie Reynolds, SONA has developed a track record of identifying and collaborating with some of the best emerging talent. Our films have been BAFTA longlisted and have won awards at festivals around the world including SXSW, Underwire, Cannes Lions and BFI Future Film. We champion marginalised voices telling universal and compelling stories. We campaign for access into the film industry and we believe in creating opportunities across the board for those from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

About Sophie…

Sophie Reynolds started her film career by working in the production office and assisting directors on big international film sets. In 2018, she set up the UK Producers’ Roundtable with Loran Dunn and Helen Simmons to campaign for better accessibility and career sustainability for UK film producers. Earlier this year they released the first set of UK Producer Guidelines which were widely publicised by the press and can be found here. Sophie is a British Screen Forum ‘Future Leader’, a JBA awardee and most recently, one of the 12 producers selected for the BFI NETWORK Insight Producer scheme. She is currently producing the second series of 'State of The Union' for See-Saw, directed by Stephen Frears and written by Nick Hornby.
